Lately I have been trying to understand my own path as an artist. Perhaps the greatest inspiration has been found in the Illustrator Joe Leyendecker. He was the man behind Arrow Shirts. He developed works to become iconic and to spark the imagination of the public. You buy this product, the life shown here will be yours. I have always had a passion for advertising perhaps the modern idea of advertising was born and breathed by such artists as Joseph Christian Leyendecker.
Here are a couple of his most iconic images that he mastered. He very much shaped the art deco period of the 1920’s and I am also greatly inspired that was a gay artist who had to keep his identity largely hidden however his art showed a homo erotic man that many straight men wanted to achieve. Only a gay man could create such a mystique.

Joe Leyendecker has greatly inspired a number of works. Never underestimate the power of illustration that is what I have learned from him. Thank you for being my greatest inspiration.
Below I share a few of my paintings that have been inspired by Leyendecker.
